Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach Homecoming Press Conference


Triumphant Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach Returns Home

The Miss Universe fever will be in full swing once again with the much-awaited homecoming of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) and the Miss Universe Organization have lined up exciting events to welcome the newly-crowned queen in her home country. Indeed, a great year starter for pageant fans! 

Pia will arrive in Manila on January 23 via Philippine Airlines. The following day, January 24, she will be meeting with members of the local and international media at the Grand Homecoming Press Conference.

On January 25, Pia will pay a courtesy call on the City Mayor of Manila. On the same day, she will go to the Senate of the Philippines to receive the Citation of Excellence for her victorious stint at the Miss Universe Pageant. Thereafter, the public will get the chance to see Pia at the Grand Homecoming Parade passing through the cities of Makati, Manila, and Quezon City.

On January 26, she will pay courtesy calls on the President, His Honorable Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, at the MalacaƱang Palace and the City Government offices of the cities of Makati and Quezon City. She will also be appearing at the Session Hall of the House of Representatives on the same day to receive the Congressional Medal of Distinction.

January 27 is Charity Day for Miss Universe. She will be conducting hospital visits to the wounded soldiers and have an encounter with the youth living with HIV.

To culminate the series of Pia's homecoming activities, a Grand Homecoming Special will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on January 2. Pia’s friends and other surprise guests will be part of the show which will also serve as a tribute to her success.

Janicel Lubina Homecoming Press Conference

Janicel Lubina finishes in the Top 10 of Miss International 2015 pageant.

" I have no regrets. I did my best and I am so grateful for the opportunity to represent our country the best way I could." said Binibining Pilipinas 2015 international Janicel Lubina after her Top 10 finish at the recent Miss International pageant in Grand Prince Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.




Miss Venezuela Edymar Martin was crowned winner, besting over 70 delegates who joined the 5555th edition of the pageant. Miss Honduras was first runner-up. followed by Miss Kenya, Miss Vietnam and Miss USA in ascending order.

Janicel was a standout onstage; from the National Costume Competition where she donned local designer Leo Almodal's creation to her heartfelt speech about her life story and her earnest dream of inspiring others with it.



 "Life has been full of hardships and challenges, but i never stopped dreaming and working hard to achieve my goals in life. I want to be an inspiration to young people; that nothing is impossible if you follow your dreams and have a strong faith in  God," said 20-year old Lubina whose humble beginnings endeared her to many, earning her the tag as Cinderella of the Philippines since she won the Binibining Pilipinas International crown.



Janicel has everyone to thank for her amazing journey and will forever treasure memories and lessons she learned from the whole experience.

"I am so grateful to everyone who supported me. Sa pamilya ko at sa lahat nang nagtiwala sa akin, maraming maraming salamat po. I did my best and being able to go there to compete is an achievement in itself. Dahil doon, mas nakilala ko ang sarili ko. I became more prayerful and I learned how to get along with people from other races. I really enjoyed my stay in Japan," said Janicel.

Parul Shah Homecoming Press Conference

Parul Shah placed 3rd Runner -Up at the Miss Grand International 2015 held at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, Thailand on October 25, 2015. The statuesque Filipina is among the 78 candidates of the prestigious international beauty pageant.
The morena beauty also snagged the Best National Costume award.During the competition, Parul wowed the judges in a gold bejeweled Muslim Maranaw Pricess-inspired ensemble by Filipino designer Edwin Uy​.












































































Anea Garcia of Dominican Republic won the Miss Grand International 2015 crown
Since her departure for the pageant, Parul has participated in a slew of activities as part of the competition including temple, island and farm visits as well as immerision in the rich culture of Thailand.

The nursing graduate from the University of the Cordillera in Baguio described her experience in competing for an international pageant as surreal. She expressed her gratitude for the Filipino fans and those who accompanied her in this journey.
In her Facebook page, Parul thanked all her supporters and dedicated her achievement to all them.

Parul grew up in 3 different countries - Dubai, India and the Philippines. She is influent in Hindi,Arabic,Gujarat, Ilocano, Filipino, and English. During the question and answer portion of the Miss Grand International Finals Night, she shared to the entire world how her father has been able to foster a peaceful environment among his family despite several differences in culture and beliefs.

During the question and answer portion, she said that having an Indian father, a practicing Hindu, and a Filipina mother, a devout Christian, did not become a hindrance for harmony to reign in their home. She stresses that everyone can co-exist peacefully through the virtue of humility, understanding and respect for each ather's beliefs.

Miss Grand International's main advocacy is the promotion of peace. In their website, the International pageant administration describes it as "an annual beauty contest searching for potential woman to encourage and run the campaign "Stop the War and Violence".

Parul's victorious 3rd place finish is a back-to-back winning stint with Binibining Pilipinas queen Anne Lorraine Colis who recently won the Miss Globe crown in Toronto, Canada on October 8, 2015.
